Khalifman - Adams
Khalifman has applied seldom used 9.d4 instead of usual acceptance of the pawn sacrifice 9.ed5 Nd5 10. Ne5 Ne5 11. Re5.
Adams has not remained in a duty too and instead of usual 9... ed4 has chosen 9... de4, that too should be not bad.
Now after already played 9... de4 10. Ne5 Bb7 11. Nd2 Bd6 12.f4 ef3 13. Ndf3 will follow probably 13... Ne5 14. Ne5 Nd7 (in case of 14... А5 15. Bg5 at white some initiative) 15. Bf4 Be5 16. Be5 Qg5 17. Qc2 Rae8 18. Bd6 cd6 19. Qf2 Bd5 with a probable drawn game. │
After happened in the game white has received some advantage. For me riddle, why Khalifman has offered drawn game, seems, at white in final position chances of a victory.

Grischuk- Gurevich
Deserved attention 14.Rfe1 f6 15.c4
Afer 14...0-0 Black is going to move 14... f6.
In the nearest moves the position should be defined.
Gurevich has got bad position, was necessary to play 14... f6.
Now threatens Re1-e3-h3, and also it is simple f2-f4. Further Grischuk has left the large advantage. And the position became close to a drawn game.

Timman - Morozevich
After sharp opening the position after 18...Bc7 for the benefit of black, threatens simply Kf8-g8-h8, and there seems no defence. But Timman has found a very strong move Qb3. After sharp play the game turn out theoretical drawn position.

Gelfand - Van Wely
After opening the minimal advantage at white, but the drawn game was probable.
In a final position it is easier 21... Ba6 c by subsequent 22... Rc5 The boring game has turned out, in which as a matter of fact there was no struggle.
Turned out ending is well known in the theory, and it is not clear, on what expected Gelfanf, not having put before the contender of any problems.

Bareev - Leko
An equal difficult game.
Strong move 16.b4! has allowed for white to receive small advantage due to passive knight c7.
If black having time(were in time) to play a7-a5, they would have complete order.

Dreev - Piket
An equal ending.
Dreev could manage to decline this ending in his benefit.

Lautier - kasimdzhanov
At black was no worse. Possible 23...Qd6. Further white has got an advantage, the question in, whether suffice him for a victory.
I think, a serious mistake was 25... Rc7? Instead of it it was necessary to play 25... b5 26. Bb3 (26. Qb4 bc4 27. Rc4 Ne4) Nd3 27. Qd3 a5 with provisional equality. Moreover, accuracy it would be required from white.
