Konstantin Sakaev GM Konstantin Sakaev annotates the 3rd game:

Kasparov - X3D Fritz
In the game already up to the 10th move happened a technically won position. In essence Fritz had no chances after Kasparov has played b6. Kasparov could to discover one of the weaknesses of the machine - the playing in the closed positions. The only chance for Fritz was to open the position by movement of the pawn "f". But instead of that Fritz manoeuvred aimlessly. And Kasparov has realized the plan connected with the movement of the pawn "a" exactly. And it should be noticed that it was almost impossible to expect that "black-out", which happened in the 2nd game, since Kasparov had no serious tactical problems.
Kd1- aesthetically beautiful, "human" move. The move of the King to the Q-side is understandable for human being, but for machine the refusal the castle is a serious mistake. In general if one wants to make the serious problems for machine then it is necessary to get the positions of the endings kind or the position of the closed kind as it has happened in this game. And Kasparov could get not only the closed position, but the closed position with the serious advantage. But of course the kind of position was the most important, keeping in mind the advantage Kasparov had in the 1st game, which he could not win. And I think Kasparov would win this game even if he had no the advantage. Machine had no any plan and as a matter of fact there was no any struggle in this game. Certainly the reason of that is in the opening. And of course it will be very difficult to expect such a course of the struggle in the last, decisive game. Well, the more interesting end of the match will be then.
